Kaduna- Afenifere, the Yoruba socio cultural organization, their counterpart, the Pan Niger Delta forum, the Ohaneze Ndigbo and Middle forum leaders, on Saturday stormed Kaduna to condole with the victims of attacks and killings in southern Kaduna.
Forum described as shameful, the actions of Nigeria security could watch genocide and killing filed in southern Kaduna and could not arrest or bring any pertetrators to book, urging president, army and police to do something to quickly arrest the situation.
The forum, in company of Southern Kaduna people’s union, SOKAPU, also visited some internally displaced persons, IDPs, camps and presented some relief materials to the victims, mostly women and children.
The forums, represented by national Chairman of PANDEF, Air Comdr ldengesit Nkanga (rtd), National President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, chief (sir) Ben Churchill Aniekwena, the spokesman of Afenifere, Mr. Yinka Odumakin and president of Middle Belt respectively, restated the call for restructuring of the country.
Addressing IDPs, the forum leaders respectively stated that they were in the state IDP camps to condoled and demonstrated their support to the victims and encouraged them as their members, saying at the formation stage, the forum collectively agreed that an injury to one is an injury to all.
They said the forum lamented that victims houses were burnt, properties destroyed and are being dispossed of their land, and taken over by fulanis, and enjoined victims that action will not last forever and their land will surely be reclaimed.
According to them, it’s shameful and surprised that the Nigeria security could watch the genocide in killing filed, against southern Kaduna and could not bring any of culprits to book.
Accordingly, the forum said it’s noted with dismay, that the people who called described the killing as revenge knows where the killers came from but are just rubbing it the faces of Nigerians.
“When we were being told that southern Kaduna Killing was a revenge, we begins to asked, by who, who are those people, who spoke to them, where are they coming from, who did they complain to. The people who are saying such thing knows where the killers are coming from. They are just rubbing it in our face”, they said.
They continue that” today southern Kaduna people are in IDP camps because their houses are being destroyed and burnt and their village occupied by fulanis. That’s why we’ve been crying for restructuring in the country. If there were native police in your area will they allowed the killers to killed you? The answer is capital no.
The forum lamented that it was wrong to centralised everything in Abuja stressing that the Nigeria army, police and other security operatives are not committed to the people but to loyal to the government alone.
El-rufai, they said warned that southern Kaduna should not best arms and embarked on self defense but lamented that the killers bear the arms and go about killng under 24curfew in place.
According to them if government, saddled with the constitutional responsibility to provide security and welfare of the people failed to perform it’s duties, anarchy would take over as people must defense themselves because they have the right to leave.
Meanwhile, SOKAPU spokesman Mr Luka Binniyat told journalists that government, both at state and local, has not spent a Kobo on the medical bills of the injured victims of the attack in hospitals in kafanchan and Kaduna metropolis, to their knowledge except themselves and other spirited individuals and organisations.
Speaking at the camp in Gonin Gora, president of SOKAPU Hon. Jonathan Asake sincerely thanked the forum leadership especially Edwin clerk, on the gesture, for taken time and pains to come to Kaduna to see for things for themselves especially the onslaught and genocide, going on their fellow Nigerians and what they are going through in Kaduna.
He also thanked the Afenifere representative for donating N2million to the IDPs, and Yinka Odumakin for the struggle for emancipation of the human race in the country, and all the relief materials donated. End
