Best of Africa award recipients, World most envious and prestigious Award by Forbes to the Sons and Daughters of Africa who are doing well in their endeavours of life has this year honoured Mahmood Ahmadu, Adamawa born US Information Technology (IT) expert.
Ahmadu an indigene of Maiha Local Government Area of Adamawa state received accolades for making not the Maiha or the state proud, but the entire country and African continent for making strides as founder and Executive Chairman of online integrated solutions Ltd.
The Chairman of Maiha Local Government, Dr Idi Aminu who holds the Rumbun Adamawa traditional title of Fombina Emirate council in the euphoria of joy congratulated Ahmadu, a world-known philanthropist who made the Sons and Daughters of Maiha proud in his growing business as an IT world renowned Guru.
Aminu Chronicled the story of Mahmood Ahmadu in IT as one of the early pioneers of the Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) for digital mobile phone use in Northern Nigeria.
Aminu said Forbes rate Mahmood high as founder and executive chairman of Online Integrated Solutions Ltd (OIS). A serial entrepreneur, he founded several significant businesses prior to OIS. He was one of the business activities and operations span 53 countries and five continents.
“Ahmadu’s scholarship program now makes it possible for hundreds of students to afford a good quality education locally and abroad. Mahmood holds the Nigerian National Honor of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON). 275” He said
The other two prominent African business leaders in this year’s Forbes Best of Africa award recipients. Honorees are Idahosa Wells Okunbo, CEO of Ocean Marine Security Ltd; and Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan, managing director of First Bank Nigeria.
The awards will be presented on September 11 during a virtual event in conjunction with the Foreign Investment Network (FIN). The event, an online roundtable discussion supported by the World Philanthropy Network, features a keynote address by former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.
