Some of us live in America and feel America literally the way it is. This is why a lot of us have the first hand perspective of the life in America than people who read or listen to stories about the nation. … On the faith, a lot of Catholic democrats do not support abortion while on the other hand a lot of Catholic republicans practice abortion.
I love to have a government that supports Catholic principles, especially regarding abortion. But then again, life is wider and deeper than that which is in the womb. I believe, too, that a lot of these abortions in the US happen not because the mothers don’t want kids but based on their circumstances. So pro-life talk should be all embracing, not departmental; catering for the baby in the womb and even the elderly, the weak, and the abandoned and marginalized in the swamps are unexcluded.
Some of us live in America and feel America literally the way it is. This is why a lot of us have the first hand perspective of the life in America than people who read or listen to stories about the nation. Things that happen here are palpable to us and our lives, especially as immigrants. On the faith, a lot of Catholic democrats do not support abortion while on the other hand a lot of Catholic republicans practice abortion.
I don’t know who the hypocrite is here. But God always knows how to defend his Church, or rather, his will for mankind. As the prophet says, God’s word cannot return to him once spoken without fulfilling its mission. The community of faith has always been besieged by darkness even in the time of Christ, but has always dispelled it. St John writes, “In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (Jn. 1:4-5).
Besides, I think that the stability of America lies in the tilting of the left to the right and the right to the left. At each side, it gets to the precipice and back. Yeah Trump would have been the best balance to American polity had it not been for these ugly attitudes inherent in him and his racist bent.
Economically, he held up the baton given to him. He never transformed the American economy. That was done by Obama, though I still have my problems with the latter. The truth remains that Obama revamped the American economy from ashes. If Trump had taken the turn of Obama, American economy would have been in shambles right now even beyond what Covid-19 could accomplish. DT built a skyscraper on an already standing 20-storey economic building with a firm foundation. To show he exists on the moment, he is unable to envision/foresee the colossal damage Corona virus pandemic would have on the vibrant economy. He let darkness fall and the economy was inundated. Trump isn’t that holistically visionary. Even now he isn’t doing it right to make the economy grow or take back the country from the pandemic.
Like I said, the people who live here feel the heat first hand. You can’t imagine the great fear there is out there to do your work in the midst of the pandemic. Thank God for your government’s augury in the part of Europe you live to set in place a proper channel to mitigate the power of Covid-19 infection in your nation. It isn’t same here and people are no longer at ease. Things are falling apart.
Yeah DT mediated peace for some regions/quarters but one would always know that Rome wasn’t built in a day. The move to peaceful relations between these nations would have begun longer than DT took office. Besides, I love DT because he always remind me of Nigeria. You know Nigeria exports what it doesn’t have and imports what it has: think about crude oil/petroleum, electricity, and peace via ecomog. Trump makes peace between nations while he ignites bombshells in his volatile nation.
Perhaps, the media over-blow/exaggerate DT’s exploits. But most don’t lie about him and his activities. Indeed, I think that the lying medium today is the one we all trusted before, the Fox News. The Fox News would always justify and vindicate whatever DT does in expense of reality cos they have agreed to disagree and disagreed to agree with others on Trump, no matter what. Hand in globe with DT, they lie and make the truth appear like a lie. That’s the way to drain the Washington swamp, I guess. Perhaps, amidst these uprisings, I believe Washington hasn’t had the depth of swamp like it has now in ages. CNN can be terrible. But, at least, the CNN would present the the subject as it is and then begins to dance around it.
