In a bid to provide social infrastructures and reduce social vices to Kaduna Communities and beyond, Chairman and CEO Sardaunan Badarawa Foundation, Hon. Usman Ibrahim has installed about 150 units of streetlights in and around Badarawa Community, a suburban settlement located in Kaduna North in Kaduna Central Federal Constituency.
Usman Ibrahim, popularly known as Sardaunan Badarawa said his decision to install the 80 Watts German made solar streetlights which reportedly cost millions of naira, in the community he was born was informed by his resolve to put smiles on faces of his people.
He said in a statement that the are in dire need of infrastructures to make life more meaningful and worthwhile, adding that illuminated streets would drastically reduce crime and other antisocial acts committed in the cover of darkness.
The former interim chairman of Kaduna North who was also a front-runner in Kaduna Central Senatorial race 2019, on the platform of All Progressives Congres (APC) also stated that he executed human development projects such as boreholes, learning centres, scholarship and offsetting hospital bills of the needy, pointing out that his foundation would continue to prioritize urgent needs of communities with the sole aim of giving to people what would be beneficial to them.
“I was terribly touched and demoralized while on a visit to some members of the community that are sick in Badarawa, seeing the whole place in a total blackouts with children grappling to play outdoors in darkness.
“Only the hardhearted could ignore such situation requiring an urgent intervention, so I immediately, after carrying out feasibility study, set all machineries in motion to erect wide range illuminating streetlights positioned on strong poles to enhance their durabilities for present and upcoming members of the Community.
“We will look into other areas that require urgent attention with a view of giving back to the communities, what they need to leave a good life” Hon. Ibrahim said.
Speaking to newsmen, District head of Badarawa, Ahmadu Dahiru, while acknowledging the installation of about 150 streetlights in his community, expressed his delight, stating that the streetights would go a long way in beautifying and reducing crime rate in the community.
He urged Politicians and wealthy members of the Community to emulate Sardaunan Badarawa whom he described as an illustrious son of the community who, according to him, had done so much to uplift socio-economic and educational status of the Community.
Similarly, a resident of the community, Yunusa Gaji eulogized philanthropic commitments of Usman Ibrahim to Badarawa and neighboring communities, and recalled that he and Hon. Ibrahim were employees of ABG Telecommunication two decades ago,.
He also stated that the company staff and managers then were touched positively in one way or the other and were full of his praises due to his ever willing and ready to serve personnal, which he noted were needed attributes in leadership.
