..Urges FG To Give HGN Constitutional Backing

The Commandant General of Hunters Group of Nigeria,HGN, Ambassador Osatimehin Joshua has charged the men of Hunters Group of Nigeria to regard men of the Nigeria Police Force and Civil Defence as  senior partners in fighting crimes, banditry and other forms of insecurity .

Ambassador Osatimehin was speaking at the end of a 3 days intensive course and training for newly recruited personnel of  HGN at the Civil Defence Training College katsina, North west Nigeria.

The CG also charged the newly trained HGN personnel to be disciplined, hardworking and put in to practice what they have learnt during the course of their training .

He also charged them to work in sync with personnel of other security agencies in order to curb the rising spate of insecurity in the North particularly  and  Nigeria in general.

Reassuring the hunters that the bill for the recognition of HGN by the Federal Government has passed the second reading at the National Assembly and has been refered to the committee of security and defence .

Mr.Osatemin further called on the Federal Government to expedite action on the recognition of HGN as part of the nation’s security apparatus adding 

“that personnel of HGN are not here to become billionaire but to contribute their quota to the nation’s security .

He further charged the governors of Northwest to consider incorporating the HGN into the various state security outfits just like the South West did in the case of Amotekun.

” I called on the Governors of the North West to emulate what the South West did by incorporating hunters into Amotekun security network , he added.

The Hunters Group of Nigeria’s newly recruited personnel have been training in Katsina for the past three days and have graduated the trainees today being January 11, 2020.

The hunters are drawn from the Seven North West states of Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, Katsina, Sokoto, and Jigawa
