Considering the commitment and focus of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, North West Zone in grassroots development and grooming of talents, the zone will be producing world class athletes and emerge leader in sporting activities in a couple of years.
President of the NIgeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) expressed this on Monday in Kaduna, when the North West Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Abdullahi Idris led top management staff on a courtesy visit to Nimrod at his office.
“We may not be at the head of sports now, but I am assuring you that in a matter of one or two years, North West will take over,” he said.
Nimrod who is also the chairman of the Kaduna State Volleyball Association as well as the zonal rep on NBBF Board, appreciated the leadership of North West Zonal Sports Coordinator for his zeal in moving sports forward.
“I want to appreciate your leadership. So far, under your leadership, the North West is moving ahead of other zones.
“Even during the COVID-19 lockdown, actions were been taken in North West, meetings were being held via zoom, while other zones were sleeping,” he added.
Speaking further, he said that other zones in the country have been wondering why North West Zonal office is always ahead and some even confront him to know the secret.
“They always wonder why North West is ahead. I always tell them that at North West, we are not noise makers, but achievers,” he stated.
He urged the North West management team not to rest on their oars but keep pushing.
” Rome was not built in a day, but I believe our time has come,” he stressed.
