Tension as Herdsman arrested for raping married Woman in Benue South

Tension and apprehension has heightened in Benue Southern Senatorial zone over alleged invasion of the Idoma dominating area of the state by Herdsmen and the raping of a married woman by one of the fulani Herders.
The unholy aberration act reportedly occurred in bush in Ai-ede Ogego in Edumoga in Okpokwu local government area of Benue state, is generating serious ripples.

A dependable insider source who confided in out correspondent on phone said the victim married woman reportedly struggled with her vindictor for long but was latter over powered by the rapist herdsman who’s one hand is amputated.
The source also informed that the rapist was traced to a far away town Adiga market, arrested and detained in the police cell in Okpoga, the headquarters of Okpokwu local.
A source also disclosed that some money had already been released by the herdsman to the husband family of the victims to perform the rituals on the married woman who was tapped in line with the Idoma tradition.

According to source from the Ai-ede, the victims village, the victim husband family are hell bent on revenging mission over the rapping incident against their wife, causing tension and apprehension in the area.

The source further explained that even though the incident happened last week, the invasion of the herdsmen in larger number, some without cattles, have created alot of fear and suspicion among in inhabitants.
Accordingly, the villagers are also mobilizing youths for fear that there may be an attack on their keensmen by rapist herders if care is not taken, asking the nomads to leave the vicinity before rapping another married woman.
It was not certain what would be the faith of the rapist and the herders, going forward, as the inhabitants of the area no longer have trust in the security of the wife, children and themselves in the hands of the herders invasions.
