The Middle Belt Forum of Nigeria said President Mohammadu Buhari led Federal Government is characterized by ethnicity and religious chauvinism, bigotry and unconstitutionality with total disregard for the rule of law.
The forum lamented that incessant invasion of communities across the Middle Belt which resulted in massive destruction and sacking of communities from their ancestral land by Fulani herdsmen terrorists, has left in their trail a serious humanitarian crises situation.
This, they observed has led to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in camps all over the country who “are in dire need of food items, medicare, education and other basic human needs and neccesities of lives.
These assertions were made in an elaborate statement issued on Friday and signed by the forums Secretary of kaduna State chapter Comrade John Haruna.
Accordingt to the forum “The incessant invasion of communities across the Middle Belt which has resulted in massive destruction and sacking of communities from their ancestral land by Fulani herdsmen terrorists has left in their trail a serious humanitarian crises situation of internal displaced persons (IDPs) in camps all over the country that are dire need of food item medicare, education and other basic human need and neccesities of.
“In spite of all these and the fact that this babaric invasion and kidnapping which often times assumed the dimensions of ethno – religious cleansing and mostly genocidal proportion, the president Muhammad Buhari led federal government continue to turn a blind eye to these.
“President Mohammadu Buhari led Federal government is characterize by ethnic religious chauvinism, bigotry, unconstitutionality and total disregard for the rule of law”, it stated.
The forum also noted that on daily basis Nigeria is drifting irreversibly into a dark tunnel, adding that “2020 country Reports on Human rights practices,, US department of state in the report, stated that traditional relationship were used to pressure government officials to favour particular ethnic group in the distribution of important position and orher patronage.
“The constitutional position is that all of us, Christians and Moslem are stakeholders in this country, so for the government to bend or learning towards moslem in its appointment is un-constitutional.
“The varied interests of other ethnic and religious group: – he want to islamized Nigeria. Where is Saddam Hussain of of Iraq?, where is Mamman Gaddafi? Where is Gen Sanni Abacha. they are all dead and gone and are now feeding raw materials for maggots. We should always learn from history”, the statement added.
The country, it stated, needed both Christian and Muslims to bring their wealth of knowledge and ideas in all discipline and field of endeavors, whether
accadecally acquired or by divinen, “it doesn’t matter, Nigeria will be great again.
“Almost every aspect of our National life diminishes our human values. How can we claim to be a people of sound value when Traditional, Accademmic, Judicial, Politics, Education, Economic, Religious and others such hitherto revered institutions openly pevert justice? It lamented.
