..As more residents hit by hardship

Prices of firewood, kerosene, tomatoes and other essential domestic needs have skyrocketed in kaduna State following the recent ban placed on cutting down of trees, transportation and other items in the state.
More hardship have also been decried by residents in the state also consequent upon the closure of some weekly Markets that take cares of the immediate and daily needs of the affected communities.
Kaduna State government had recently banned cutting of trees for timber and firewood and transportation of livestock in and out of the state for security reasons.
The state also suspended some weekly markets from operating untill further notice due to the security challenges, all of which directly affect the well-being of the common people.
Findings revealed that the prices of other essential domestic needs skyrocketed following the increased in demand by the people due to the ban.
Our reporter uncovered that Kujama firewood market is the worst hit as scarcity of wood needed is currently in serious short supply.
It was also gathered that firewood traders are being pursued from the bushes by security operatives enforcing the ban. A Gbagyi woman claiming Mrs Laitu Adamu who is a victim told our correspondent that she’s difficulty as her firewood business has gone down because of lack of supply of woods, and closure of weekly markets. She also said that Monday market, a popular and cheap market located in kakuri in kaduna South LG, that boost their buying and selling needs vanished due to the ban.
