Candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stole the show as the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM) presented certificates of return to winners of the rescheduled and rerun elections held across five local government areas of Kaduna State last Saturday.
The winners of the local government elections for Chikun, Engineer Salasi Nuhu Musa and Kajuru, Honourable Ibrahim Gajere were escorted to the venue by supporters respectively.
Presenting the certificates, KADSIECOM Chairman, Dr. Saratu Binta Dikko-Audu said that Engineer Salasi defeated his opponent of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Honourable Samaila Leman, while Honourable Gajere beat Honourable Cafra Caino also of the APC.
Certificates of return were also presented to all the councillors-elect through their respectively elected council chairmen.
“Members of political parties members of the press and other distinguished members good morning.
“We have come to the second leg of announcement of confirmation of the results of the election that took place on the 4th of September for the first leg and second leg was on the 25th of September.
“I’ll just open that result as announced by our returning officers on the various polling centres and beginning with chairmen of local government.
“The chairmanship position the PDP candidate who scored 19,402 beat the APC candidate that scored 14,829 votes in Chikun LGA,” she announced.
For the Chairmanship seat in Kajuru LGA, she said Gajere scored 14,132 to beat APC candidate Cafra who scired 8,795 votes.
