Social giants, Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram have been temporarily down across the globe, without prior notice.
It was observed on Monday afternoon by millions of users that the three applications, which are all owned and run by Facebook, all completely stopped working at about 04:30 pm.
Various Visitors to the Facebook website saw a message that their browser could not connect while WhatsApp and Instagram apps did not show new contents including messages.
However, WhatsApp posted a message acknowledging the lack of access to its platform via its official Twitter handle.
“We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment.
“We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.” the statement read.
Facebook’s verified Twitter handle also corroborated the statement adding that “we apologize for any inconvenience.”
Going by the tweets about WhatsApp on Twitter, it would seem that the outage is widespread and has impacted a large number of users as users from several parts of the world are reporting issues in sending and receiving messages, suggesting that it is not limited to a specific part of the world.
