“Slaves must always obey their masters and do their best to please them. They must not talk back or steal, but must show themselves to be entirely trustworthy and good. Then they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive in every way.”
Titus 2:9-10 NLT
“In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over by observing your pure and reverent lives. Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.”
1 Peter 3:1-4 NLT
“You are so proud of knowing the law, but you dishonor God by breaking it. No wonder the Scriptures say, “The Gentiles blaspheme the name of God because of you.”
Romans 2:23-24 NLT
Apart from the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, Christian character is a very important aid to the effectiveness of evangelism.
The passages above explain how the gospel can be made attractive by our good conduct and how the unbelievers can blaspheme the name of Christ because of our bad conduct.
The question is, how does your lifestyle affect the gospel of Christ Jesus?
