Desperate attempt by Governor Godwin Obaseki Men to stop Chief Dan Orbih, the South South Vice Chairman, Hon. Ogbiede-Ihama, Hon. Segun Saiki and others, from attending the upcoming PDP National convention has failed woefully. In a case instituted against them holden in Edo State High Court in the Judicial Division, Benin City, the Claimant in an Experte Motion dated 20/10/2021 to wit seeking an Interim Injunction and a request of an order restraining Chief Dan Orbih, Hon. Ogbiede-Ihama and others from attending, participating and voting at the PDP National Convention among other prayers.
The Court having heard from the Learned Counsel to the claimant ordered as follows:
“Having carefully considered the said application, I am of the humble but firm opinion that the Defendants of this Suit be placed on Notice.
“However, because of the salient pressing issues raised in the Process of the Court, I hereby Order Accelerated hearing of the Motion on Notice.
“It is further ordered that the Bailiff of this Court effect service as a matter of Urgency of all processes in this suit on the 1st – 11th Defendants.
“This case is Adjourned to 2nd of November 2021. Hearing notice to be issued/served on the 1st – 11th Defendants.”
It was signed by J.O. Okeaya-Inneh, the presiding Judge.
This has put the final nail against the desperate attempt by the governor from stopping Chief Dan Orbih and others from attending the PDP National Convention because by November 2nd when the matter will come up for hearing, the National Convention would have been over.
