JAP, JNI, Rotary Club appeal to parents to accept Polio Immunization

The Rotary Club, District 9125 Kaduna, has called on parents to ensure that their children received immunization against all killer diseases for a better future and happy life at adult age.

Rotarian Godson Izuchukwu who is a the Community Corp Chairman of the Rotary Club District 9125 made the call at the Open Field campaign organized by Journalists Initiative on Immunization Against Polio JAP, during the November 2021 polio Immunization in Ungwar Muazu Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

He said the most critical stage of human development is from age 0 to 5 and that is a period which should not be toyed with to prevent death and diseases that could lead to mental or physical deformity.

Rotarian Godson Izuchukwu said the Polio Immunization Campaign by Government and development partners are committed to discharging its responsibility to citizens in the areas of health.

He commended JAP for its relentless efforts in supporting other stakeholders who are also working hard to completely eradicate the wild Polio virus in the country and the world in general.

Also speaking, the Representative of Jamatu Nasri Islam JNI of the Local Government, Mallam Ibrahim Mahe expressed concern over parents who still refuse the polio vaccination on their children attributing the action to ignorance and urged them to stop.

According to Mallam Ibrahim Mahe, JNI is a leading party in the promotion and mobilization of parents towards achieving success in the polio immunization campaign.

The UNICEF religious Focal Person for the Local Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Sayyadi who emphasized UNICEF commitment to polio eradication noted that the world has recorded huge success as far as the fight against polio is concerned.

In a remark, the JAP coordinator in Kaduna, Mallam Lawal Dogara explained that the organization has been conducting Local Theatres and Road Shows over the years in order to educate the general public on the importance of polio vaccination.
