Sen. Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central Zone in the 8th Senate has been lauded by a Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former Kaduna Governorship aspirant Hon. Shuaibu ldris aka Mikati.

Hon. Idris also lauded Sen. Suleiman Hunkuyi who represented Kaduna north in the 8th Senate, as most vibrant material, saying the two would’ve made different than Isa Ashiru who emerged flags bearer.

Hon. Shuaibu ldris, a frontline politician and three times governorship contestant cum business entrepreneur made the revelations in an interview with our correspondent.

While he rated the duo as the most vibrant and competent, Hon. Idris expressed surprised that Sen. Sani and Hunkuyi could not be given due consideration in 2019 against Isa Ashiru and others.

He said there’s no basis for comparison between Sen. Sani and some of his colleagues even in terms of contribution on national issues on the floor of the Senate.

Mikati who expressed surprised over poor support he received during his governorship contest by electorates however said he learnt a lot of lessons from the contest, saying that at moment “l cannot say I’ll contest or I’ll not yet. He stated that despite his earthshaking campaign blueprints he was not given opportunity, and lamented that Sen. Sani and Hunkuyi were also not given consideration.

“How can I say I want to be Governor and PDP will go and pick lsa Ashiru, how and how. Even if they don’t want me how about Hunkuyi. How can you compared Sen. Sani with others especially with his contribution on the floor of Senate, with some lane dog.

He also said after three consecutive times he offered himself for Governorship election and rejected, he decided to rest considering resources, time, energy and capacity involved.

Idris also revealed how he contributed to bringing investment to Kaduna, adding “I brought Olam farm to Kaduna, not El-Rufai. I told him when he spoke on a program and he didn’t refute it. I called them from Lagos and introduce him to them. He didn’t refute it. I text him email, he knows”, he said.
