INSECURITY: Emir Spoke The Minds Of The Citizens Says Hon. Shaaban

Renown political icon, Dan Buran Zazzau and Barden Keffi, Hon. Sani Sha’aban has commended the Emir of Zazzau for telling President Muhammadu Buhari that Kaduna state is under siege by bandits.

Hon. Sha’aban who decried the persistent insecurity in the state lamented both economic and religious activities have been frozen as a result of the activities of bandits in the state.

He further stated that most residents cannot sleep with two eyes close due to the insecurity in the state.

“As far as I am concerned, the Emir, Amb. Nuhu Bamali has spoken the minds of the people of the state”

“The insecurity in the state is such that if a boy blows a balloon and it burst , many would panic thinking that it is the bandits.”

“The activities of bandits which initially was limited to neighbouring states have now encompassed Kaduna.- Birnin Gwari is worst hit, Zaria and other local government areas are equally affected.”

He continued,

“Today, religious and commercial activities are gradually grinding to a halt .Though there is an improvement but the Federal Government need to step up.”

Hon. Shaaban who absolved the state government of security situation said that the police and other security agencies are not under the control of the state government, urged the Federal Government to be more proactive.

On the issue of rotational presidency, the politician said that he is not bothered about where the next president comes from adding that, who ever is coming should come with a good economic program for the citizens of the country.

“The economy is in a bad state, hunger and poverty has taken hold of the people.
People do not go to farms any more in Zamfara, Katsina, Sokoto and the rest. Even the World Bank has predicted there would be starvation in the land .It is therefore imperative that the next president must come prepared to tackle this challenges .”

Fielding questions from Journalists about the 2023 popualtion census, the Zaria based politician stated that the security situation in the North do not warrant conducting a headcount now.

“Who would go to Birnin Gwari for a headcount, who is that enumerator that would go to Zamfara? Who would go to Monguno to count people?”, he queried.
