When you notice failure, confusion, backwardness and the presence of the evil, you need to ask yourself if you have given enough time to His Word. Those who give time to the Word of God come out victorious and successful.
The Associate Parish Priest of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Ahmadu Bello University, Samaru Zaria, Rev Fr Patrick Bako Zichiyang has tagged lack or insufficient knowledge of the Word of God as the easiest way to fall prey to the entices of the enemy. He made this known in the parish on the Sunday of the Word of God, 23rd January, 2022.
The priest positioned that the Church decided to dedicate the third Sunday of January to the Word in order to remind the faithful of the need to make the Word an integral part of their daily Christian life.
“You must learn to give ears to the Word of God.” Fr Zichiyang catechized. “Anytime you dispose yourself to God is an opportunity for your situations to find their solutions in God. This is why we need to constantly take part in His worship. God knows the plans He has for you (Jer. 11:29), but it is by having time to meditate on His Word that you will know His plans for you. You must learn to meditate on the Word of God if you want to see breakthrough in your life.
When you notice failure, confusion, backwardness and the presence of the evil, you need to ask yourself if you have given enough time to His Word. Those who give time to the Word of God come out victorious and successful. You will see barrenness if you ignore the Word of God. Zechariah was overshadowed by traditions and only prospered when He kept His Word – he was restored the moment he wrote his son’s name. Thank God for his wife who knew the Word of God and the name He had for her son.
Meditate on it if you want to know the mystery of your creation – God only used the spoken word to create the world. It is through spoken words that the teacher impacts knowledge to the students. God uses the spoken word to talk to us – He doesn’t inject you if He wants to bless you. Jesus does not inject you with the Good News. He speaks it to you and you need to receive it. The wisdom of God is in His Word and you must meditate in His Word if you want to find His wisdom.
The Word of God is the Spirit and Bread of God. This is why Jesus insists that His words are spirit and life. Jesus became flesh in Mary because she kept the Word in her (Jn.1:14). The Word of God will become flesh in your life and you will see a way where there is no way, if you keep it. The Word can bring about transformation in your life.
The devil knows the Bible very so, what will you quote for him if you do not know the Scriptures? You are bound to believe him if don’t know the Word but he will know that you are surrounded by fire if you know the Word. Meditate on the Word and you will become a mobile Bible!”
Lamenting the increasing abandonment of the Word, the clergyman observed that some people spend so much money on phones without having the least expensive Bible; enlightened that those who do not understand the Breaking of the Word would not understand the Breaking of Bread; challenged them to acquire the mentality of what it means to have an encounter with the Word and promised them their barriers would be broken if they meditate on the Word of Life.
