...some persons go from one prayer house to the other because they do not come to the realization that their prayers have already been answered, as a result of which they may not even know when a particular prayer request has been granted.”

Vocations Director of the Catholic Diocese of Zaria, Very Rev Fr Istifanus Katung stated that lack of belief in God and His capacity to do all things is a major reason why some persons do not get anticipated answers to their prayers during the Mass he celebrated in St Enda’s Catholic Church, Zaria  on Monday, 24th January, 2022.

The priest explained that some persons go from one prayer house to the other because they do not come to the realization that their prayers have already been answered, as a result of which they may not even know when a particular prayer request has been granted.

“The Mass is the highest form of prayer.” He refreshed. “It is expected that we go with the mindset that we have been answered, yet after the Mass, crusades and retreat, people go from place to place in search of solution – they still queue up to see the priest or pastors for special prayers because they believe the other prayer was general – they believe that they need some special kind of prayers before their prayers are answered. This is so because they do not believe in what happened at Mass. These are some of the abuses you find in the Church today. The problem with Christians of today is their lack of trust in God. You will see someone who has been supposedly praying to God goes out there looking for charms and collecting armlets.

They accused Jesus of casting out demons with the power of Berzubel and He was wondering how He could cast out Satan with the power of Satan. There is nothing the Holy Spirit can do for those who reject His Power because He is God Himself. Never for a day think that God is incapable. Outright rejection of God’s mercy is a sin that cannot be forgiven.”

Reassuring them that God will always walk into that case as long as they open their hearts to Him, Fr Katung tasked them to trust God completely so that He can be effective in you.
