Grassroots Youth Coaltion on Peace and Security In collaboration with
Technoworld Conmunity Foundation
Centre for Peace, Dermocracy and Development (UMASS) Boston has enunciated the goals of its’ organisations which is in line with the resolutions of the United Nations on youths as presented by Ban Ki Moon.
According to Mal Umar Farouk Moharmmed- Secretary General of the drafting commitee of the coalition body,
“The youths are the greatest assets, who are regarded as partners of today and also the greatest investment for development of any nation, globaly.
He went futher to say that “youths are valued possession and without them, there can be no future They serve as a good measure of the extent which a country can reproduce as weli as sustain herself.
He also made a case for the youths in the event of conflicts, adding the youths need to be protected
Speaking at the occasion which was held at Nigerian Union of Journalists Abuja, Ahmadu Haruna Zago, Ambassador of Peace and Justice of the United Nations parliament urged the Journalists and other civil society organisations to keep up the conversation on peace and justice.
Ambassador, Zago urged the Federal Government to do everything possible to ensure there is justice and fairness in the society as this would help move Nigeria forward.
Dr. Alhaji Umar Ali, Coordinator, Grassroots Youths Coalition For Peace and Security in Nigeria in his own contribution asked that the Federal Government and other critical stakeholders in the country to provide a level playing field for the youths by eliminating every form of insecurity and vices.
This would make sure that yoths gave their best to the country, he said.
