NUJ To Strengthen Relationship with the Judiciary In Yobe

The Yobe State Council of Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, under the leadership of Rajab Mohammed has advocated for working synergy to strengthen various agencies and other professionals body in the state.

The Union of Journalists officials paid the advocacy visit to the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Gumna Kashim Kaigama in his office in Damaturu.

Speaking during the advocacy visit, the chairman of the Union said the aim of the visit is to strengthen working synergy between journalists and judiciary body and also solicit for their support, corporation towards the progress of the media activities in the state .

Comrade Rajab Mohammed stated that  media is the fourth estate of the realm in assisting government to promote their activities, policies and programmes through enlightenment, educating and setting agenda for both the government and the governed stressing me the need for both professional body come together and move the state to great height.

Responding, the chief judge of the state, justice Gumna Kashim Kaigama expressed satisfaction over the visit saying it is the first of its kind since he was sworn-in has substantive chief judge of the state.

He assured the NUJ leadership that, his office will work closely with the media to promote mutual understanding between government and the governed.

In his votes of thanks, chairman corespondents chapel  Ahmed I Abba assured the readiness of the Union and media in the state towards working together with the judiciary for mutual understanding among the citizens.

He also commended the efforts of the chief judge justice Gumna Kashim Kaigama for carrying journalists along.
