The Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Zaria, Very Rev Fr. Henry Atuma has called on Catholics to pray for the clergy and religious. He made this call in St Mary’s Catholic Church (The City of God), Samaru Zaria, venue of Samaru Deanery Cathedraticum which took place on Friday, 8th April 2022.
Fr. Atuma expressed his gratitude to the people for their presence at the Mass; recalled how often the priests pray for the non-clergy and tasked them to reciprocate the gesture.
“Always pray for your priests as your priests pray for you.” The vicar requested. “Pray for the religious and consecrated persons. Every day when we offer the Holy Mass we pray for you. Personally, you book Masses and there some that we know their needs and we pray for them but I wonder how many of you remember to pray for us. Children, take care of your parents. Do not abandon them. May God meet us at the points of our needs. May God bless our families. May God bless our children and give them a bright future. May our children get comfortable jobs with which to take of their parents.”
The deputy who had earlier thanked the faithful for identifying with the Local Ordinary, Most Rev Dr. George Jonathan Dodo who unavoidably absent at the Mass and for supporting them, the priests, catechists and Mai Wazais at the parish level prayed God to bless and reward them abundantly.
