At the event in which the immediate past chaplain, Rev Fr Alexander Sheyin was honour for outstanding leadership, the new chaplain, Rev Fr Benedict Nkom thanked his predecessor for setting the stage for him and revealed his plans to build on Fr Sheyin’s legacies as well as initiate other programs that would further boost the body.

“I thank Fr Sheyin for putting things already in place for me to enjoy.” The chaplain expressed. “He went through the pains of having to organize the various parishes. God bless you Fr. I came from Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, ABU, so I have been enjoying good music since I my early years I want all the parish choirs in this deanery to be strong. Expect a lot of changes. Every parish choir will have a twin sister choir. I am going to put the strongest choirs with the weakest choirs, so that you will have the privilege of exchanging ideas. We are to find a way of generating income and I will place parishes on the strength of your number. We already have a good starting point. Please, we accept feedback a lot. That is one of the things we will work with.”

Reacting to the honour accorded him the pacesetter attributed his success to the team spirit of members of the group in what started with a chat with Mr. James Arome and subsequent support from the priests of deanery. He thanked them for making him feel so special and prayed that they grow from strength to strength.
