After an illustrious career of four decades, Michelle Yeoh has received her star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was honoured at a ceremony in LA. It was attended by Ke Huy Quan, Sandra Oh, Awkwafina, Jon M. Chu and Ang Lee.
She opened up about the recognition at the event. Yeoh said, “I remember when I first went to the Walk of Fame because it’s very iconic. You want to go there because all your big heroes who’ve been in the business since you were a kid are there. I remember looking, ‘Oh, here’s so and so!’ So now, just to think that I’m getting it, it’s a dream come true.”
She added, “The star may carry one name, but it represents so many people who made this journey possible… I hope it reminds someone, somewhere, that it is possible. The way you begin does not define where you can go.”
Interestingly, the actress was seen in a yellow Dior dress with a flowy silhouette. She paired the sleeveless silk ensemble with Roger Vivier silver heels, a Richard Mille watch and diamond jewellery.
Yeoh began her career in 1983 after winning the Miss Malaysia World contest. She then represented Malaysia at the Miss World pageant in London. Some of her best works in movies include Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), Memoirs of Geisha (2005), Crazy Rich Asians (2018) and Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022).
