Doubling down on artificial intelligence, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran said the Tata Group wants to be at the forefront of AI. The group will invest across the entire AI stack.
Speaking on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit, he said all Tata Group companies and employees will undergo AI transformation as part of a broader strategy. Moreover, the group has also signed a strategic partnership with OpenAI.
Tata Group has committed to the first 100MW of capacity in its data centres. This capacity will gradually scale up to 1GW.
Chandrasekaran said the group will build industry-specific solutions using OpenAI’s large language models (LLMs). He added that AI will empower employees, drive inclusion, and bring millions more people into the market.
He noted that AI can help address healthcare and social inclusion holistically. Furthermore, all Tata companies will use AI to build a competitive moat.
The group will accelerate efforts in semiconductors, data platforms, AI operating systems for industrial use, and agentic AI. It will also partner with new and emerging companies in India and globally to scale its impact.
