Priyanka Chopra Jonas turned heads at The Bluff’s premiere in Los Angeles. She was seen in a brown wrap skirt with a corset-inspired top. She kept her hair open with a wavy texture. Nick Jonas, on the other hand, paired a brown shirt with trousers of similar colour, alongside a gray blazer. They were photographed being lovey dovey and holding on to each other affectionately.
For the afterparty, the actress stunned in a custom-made yellow couture piece from Gaurav Gupta’s collection. She paid a tribute to her character Ercell Bodden with the drape over her head. This is in reference to the opening scene of the movie, where Priyanka’s character puts a dupatta over her head. The look was completed with crystal-studded heels, bold statement jewellery and soft curls paired with minimal makeup.
The entire ensemble stole the show, but what kept social media users talking was her treasure chest-shaped designer bag from Judith Leiber. It was covered with brass detailing, gemstones and crystal embellishments.
Opening up about the dress, PeeCee wrote, “Wearing this is an ode to Ercell Bodden, my character in The Bluff. In the opening of the film she appears with a dupatta over her head, a subtle but meaningful marker of identity and strength.”
She added, “I love a saree. And when I saw this piece walk down the couture runway last month, it felt like a saree with a modern twist. We immediately called Gaurav and asked him to hold it for me… There’s a quiet power in its simplicity. The precision of the tailoring, the way it drapes and moves, felt both rooted and forward looking, and the bright yellow is so synonymous with the colorful palette of India.”
She further said, “To me, this piece is a testament to the growing global scope of Indian fashion and how beautifully our heritage continues to evolve.”
