Robert Pattinson and Zendaya are currently gearing up for the release of The Drama. The movie is directed by Kristoffer Borgli. It centres around an engaged couple whose lives spiral into turmoil after a shocking revelation surfaces just before their wedding.
During a candid conversation with Zendaya, Robert Pattinson shared a surprising take on romance. Opening up about his favourite romantic movies, the actor hilariously noted, “I have thought about this. My favourite romantic movies are not romantic. They are about breakups and I never realised that,” he said.
For him, the most powerful love stories aren’t about perfect endings. Robert is of the opinion that they are about the moments when everything starts to fall apart.
Interestingly, Zendaya echoed this feeling. She reflected how love and heartbreak often exist side by side. And that’s what makes it real.
The makers had dropped the trailer of the movie some time back. Pattinson stars opposite Zendaya as her fiancé, with the trailer teasing strained conversations, an uncomfortable wedding photo shoot, intense blow-ups and one particularly striking moment where Zendaya is seen holding a knife. It suggests the film’s tonal shift from romantic tension to something far more sinister.
The film also features a strong supporting cast, including Alana Haim, Succession and Materialists actor Zoë Winters, Mamoudou Athie from Kinds of Kindness and Hailey Benton Gates from Challengers.
Naturally, Zendaya’s wedding look from the movie has already become a major talking point. In the trailer, she appears in a sleek, strappy, floor-length gown with a cinched waist, low back, and full veil, styled with soft ringlets. While it’s strictly cinematic, the dress has sparked curiosity among fans. This is especially following news of the actor’s real-life engagement to Tom Holland. The Drama releases in cinemas across India on 3rd April, brought to India by PVRINOX Pictures.
