As the news spread quickly across social media platforms, the cricketer himself issued an official statement regarding the allegations. Shashank Singh claims that the allegations of holding their newly appointed cook hostage are completely false.
Shashank Singh’s clarification after the FIR against him and his father
According to the cricketer, Vipendra Singh Tomar, who claimed to be a cook and got the job, had intentions of stealing. Shashank Singh also mentioned that Vipendra Singh Tomar lied by calling himself a cook.
“No, we didn’t hold him hostage… He indeed arrived claiming to be a cook, but he wasn’t a cook at all. He didn’t know how to cook; he was just here to have fun, taking videos and photos, and even going into my room,” the cricketer told this to the news agency ANI.
“Since he was doing things like that, I suspect he came with the intention of stealing. We are very fortunate that, from what we’ve checked so far, nothing has been stolen,” he added.

Questions have been raised over the Cook’s actions
It was also alleged that they snatched the phone from the Cook so that he could not make contact outside. On that allegation, Shashank says that it is true that his mother forced the Cook to delete some videos and photos, as it was private. He also claims that the police have not reached out to them regarding the accusations.
According to Shashank Singh’s claims, his sister was about to dial the police as the Cook’s activities were suspicious.
“It is true that his phone contained videos and photos of the house, so my mother had him delete them because they were very private… The police haven’t approached us so far. When we caught him taking photos and videos, my sister suggested dialing 100. But he pleaded, and I let him go,” Singh mentions.

He clarified that someone abusing physically or a physical altercation is beyond his imagination. So, the allegation of physical assault made by the Cook, is completely baseless, as the cricketer says to the media house.
“It is possible that someone might level such allegations against me… I believe that anyone who knows me knows that a physical altercation is completely out of the question for me. I hesitate even to use abusive language, so I certainly couldn’t do something like that. I don’t think I need to offer any justification regarding this,” Shashank concludes his clarification.
