MBT seeks SIT probe into alleged sexual exploitation of 14-year-old girl

The Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) has alleged lapses by the Falaknuma and Mehdipatnam Police in the handling of a 14-year-old girl’s kidnapping and sought a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the case.

In a representation to Telangana Director General of Police C.V. Anand, MBT spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan alleged that the girl was kidnapped on June 1 and sexually exploited by multiple persons at different locations for over 40 days before she was rescued by the Rajendranagar Task Force on July 7.

The girl was reported missing on June 3 and the Falaknuma Police registered a case under FIR No. 308 of 2026.

The MBT alleged that the police had been informed about the family’s suspicion against a man named Junaid nearly 15 days before the girl’s rescue. Junaid and another person, identified as Tillu, were brought to the police station but were allegedly questioned casually and later escaped, the party claimed.

The MBT has demanded that the case be transferred to an SIT headed by a Detective Department officer and sought action against officials allegedly responsible for lapses in the investigation.
