The iPhone 17 Pro has been a huge hit and one of its most impressive features is its battery life. But rumors suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro could once again offer big battery benefits, thanks to three key improvements.
iPhone 18 Pro: Three improvements should make battery life even more impressive
Apple delivered in a big way with the iPhone 17 Pro. Consumer demand has been “compelling,” according to CEO Tim Cook. And the latest quarterly results made it very clear.
A fresh design, space orange, camera improvements and better battery life seem to be driving the iPhone 17 Pro’s popularity.
And on the battery front, rumors indicate that the iPhone 18 Pro will take things to a whole new level thanks to three improvements:
- Physically larger battery
- More efficient C2 modem
- A20 Pro chipset
Having a physically larger battery is the most obvious proof that the iPhone 18 Pro should achieve a new best battery life.
rumor show Apple will increase the thickness of its Pro models again to pack a bigger battery. It’s possible that only the Pro Max will have the larger battery, but both models seem more likely.
Beyond battery size, however, Apple’s silicon is expected to provide additional support for battery growth this year.
For starters, Apple is ditching Qualcomm 5G modems for its own internal C2 modem. Both the C1 and C1X have brought notable improvements in power efficiency, and the C2 should do the same.
Furthermore, the new A20 Pro chip will be built with a new 2nm process and WMCM packaging. And each of these innovations is expected to increase energy efficiency.
All of this can add up to offer truly impressive improvements over the iPhone 17 Pro’s already fantastic battery life.
