Höyry Spa is a ferry spa on M/S Finnsirius and M/S Finncanopus and gives adults a modern, spotless setting to unwind during the voyage. The spa has separate changing rooms and showers, two sea-view saunas, a steam room, and two indoor hot tubs, plus a small outdoor hot tub with open-sea views. Entry costs €20, and the package feels reasonably priced, even though services are largely self-service with no treatments. The calm ambience and well-designed facilities, especially outside peak times, led us to award Höyry Spa four stars based on our own experience.
You can find Höyry on Finnlines’ new M/S Finnsirius and M/S Finncanopus ships, which operate between Naantali and Kapellskär. The ships belong to Finnlines’ Superstar class and represent the company’s latest fleet. Höyry Spa is designed as part of the passenger experience, offering adults in particular a chance to relax during the crossing.
Finnlines operates daily sailings, offering one-way tickets, route tickets, cruises, and day cruises. On cruises, passengers do not disembark at the destination port. Ferryscanner is a good starting point for comparing ferries between Finland and Sweden.
We visited Höyry Spa on Christmas Day 2025 during a Christmas cruise on Finnsirius, which added a special atmosphere to the experience.
Overview and First Impressions
Höyry Spa made a very modern and polished first impression. The spaces are clean-lined and tidy. The whole setup feels carefully designed. Based on our experience, this is the best shipboard spa we have visited so far.
We bought tickets at the Under the Stars cafe next to the spa. Admission cost 20 euros, which felt reasonable for the quality. We entered through an automated gate. The spa is fairly small, which is typical on a ship and didn’t feel like a drawback. There were few guests, so there was plenty of space.

Changing Rooms and Showers
Men’s and women’s changing rooms are separate. The lockers lock with a numeric code, but using them proved a bit fiddly. We had to try the code several times before the door opened. The changing rooms are fairly small, which may cause some challenges at busy times, but on our Christmas Day visit, everything stayed well under control.

The shower areas are also separate for men and women. Water pressure was good, and the water was warm enough, making it pleasant to wash before and after the sauna. The showers were functional and right next to the spa area.
Saunas and Pool Area
The spa has a shared pool area with two hot tubs. The pool area serves as the hub of the spa and offers a comfortable place to relax. There is no pool for swimming.

At opposite ends of the pool area are two spacious and tidy Finnish saunas. Water for steam is always within reach, as the saunas have taps for filling the ladle. Both saunas have sea views, which adds to the experience. In addition, Höyry has one shared, spacious steam room.

For relaxation, there are sun loungers on the outer deck and daybeds indoors. Hammock chairs are suspended above the shallow wading pool. Large windows bring in light and create a sense of space.

Outdoor Area and Additional Services
The spa includes a small outdoor area with a hot tub. You can also sunbathe while taking in the sea views. The outdoor space adds a nice change of scene to the interiors, but in winter, the sun loungers see little use, even though they are available.

Höyry has no dedicated sales services. Drinking water is freely available, which is a clear advantage. In summer, the aft deck bar may be open and accessible directly from the hot tub, but on our Christmas Day visit, this was not relevant. Outside drinks and beverages bought at the ship’s bar are not allowed inside the spa.

Possible treatments, such as massage, were not particularly advertised, and none came up during our visit. As we understand it, Höyry Spa is essentially a self-service spa.

Atmosphere and Overall Experience
The atmosphere at Höyry Spa during our visit was calm and pleasant. Even though it was a Christmas cruise, the spa did not feel crowded, which improved the overall experience. We suspect the spa is even quieter on regular sailings. As spring arrives, sunny weather likely encourages more people to consider the spa services.
Rating
We rate Höyry Spa a four-star shipboard spa. The value for money is right, and although additional services are limited, the spa executes the essentials excellently. The overall experience was clearly positive, and we would gladly return to Höyry Spa on future trips. The spa’s atmosphere was calm, as Finnlines cruises usually are.

Bottom Line
Höyry Spa adds value to cruises on Finnsirius and Finncanopus, especially for adults who appreciate a peaceful sea journey. The spa is not large or packed with special features, but its strength is in well-executed basics: clean spaces, a functional setup, and sea-view saunas make the visit pleasant and relaxing. It’s a pleasure to visit.
Even on a short cruise, a spa session changes the rhythm of the trip. Sauna, a soak in the hot tub, and a moment on the outer deck taking in the sea views make the journey more than a standard cruise or crossing. In the spa, you can step away from the ship’s bustle and focus on relaxing in peace.
We recommend Höyry Spa especially to travellers who value a calm atmosphere and a quality sauna experience at sea. If you seek flashy spa attractions or extensive treatments, this may not be the right place. But if you want a quiet moment in the heat while gazing at the sea, Höyry Spa is an excellent choice.
