Cyberabad Police arrested two men for allegedly snatching a woman’s gold chain in Narsingi and recovered part of the stolen jewellery, a stolen scooter used in the crime and two mobile phones from them.
Police said the incident occurred on July 9 when the woman was walking in Alkapur Township. Two men on a scooter allegedly snatched her 32-gram gold chain, pushed her and fled. A robbery case was registered at Narsingi Police Station.
The accused, identified as Dommaranandyala Surya Teja and Palagiri Rajamohan Reddy, both 29 and natives of Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh, were arrested on Sunday, August 2, after being tracked through technical surveillance and human intelligence.
During interrogation, they allegedly confessed to the offence. Police said they had used a Suzuki Access scooter stolen from the Raidurgam area to commit the crime.
Police seized about 20 grams of melted gold, two gold chains weighing around two grams, stolen scooter and two mobile phones.
