WATCH: Dasun Shanaka run out after collision with Kevin Wickham as Jamaica Kingsmen beat St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in CPL 2026

Jamaica Kingsmen produced a dominant performance with both bat and ball to defeat St Kitts & Nevis Patriots by 51 runs in the 10th match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 at Sabina Park in Kingston. The Patriots struggled to build momentum while chasing 182, and their problems were compounded by an unusual run-out involving Dasun Shanaka and Kevin Wickham.

The dismissal came during the Patriots’ difficult chase, with the middle-order pair attempting to keep the innings moving. However, a collision in the middle of the pitch left Shanaka short of his crease and gave the Kingsmen another important breakthrough.

Dasun Shanaka run out after collision with Kevin Wickham

The incident occurred on the fourth ball of Hassan Khan’s over in the second innings. Shanaka drilled the delivery through the cover region and immediately called for two runs. As the batters crossed in the middle of the pitch, Shanaka and Wickham collided while attempting to complete the second run. The throw arrived at the bowler’s end, where Hassan quickly collected the ball and broke the stumps.

Both batters were left on the ground following the collision, prompting the third umpire to review the incident. After checking multiple replays, the third umpire determined that Shanaka was short of his crease by a matter of inches and ruled him out. Shanaka departed for just 2 off two deliveries, with the Patriots five wickets down and struggling to recover.

Keemo Paul stars as Jamaica Kingsmen secure 51-run win

The Kingsmen endured a disastrous beginning after being asked to bat first, with Saurabh Netravalkar claiming two wickets in a double-wicket maiden during the opening over. However, Keemo Paul and Rovman Powell turned the innings around with a 99-run partnership from 63 balls. Paul smashed 65 off 36 deliveries, including five fours and five sixes, while Powell contributed 49 from 39 balls. Andre Russell then added an unbeaten 14 off seven balls as Jamaica reached 181/6.

The Patriots also struggled early in their chase, slipping to 31/3 inside the powerplay. Wickham offered some resistance with 37 off 34 balls, but the lower order could not provide enough support. The Patriots were eventually bowled out for 130 in 18 overs. Paul completed a memorable all-round performance with 3/30, while Russell claimed 2/19 as the Kingsmen secured a comprehensive 51-run victory.
