The latest ICC Women’s Player Rankings have brought several notable changes following strong performances in the Women’s Asia Cup and England’s ODI series against Ireland. India’s Deepti Sharma and Smriti Mandhana were among the biggest beneficiaries, with both making significant gains after impressive displays in the ongoing continental tournament.
Deepti has moved up to sixth in the T20I bowling rankings after taking eight wickets in three matches, while Mandhana remains fifth among batters after her outstanding century against Hong Kong. Meanwhile, Ireland wicketkeeper-batter Amy Hunter reached a new career-best position in the ODI batting rankings following a consistent series against England.
Deepti Sharma and Smriti Mandhana lead India’s ranking movement
Deepti’s eight wickets in the Women’s Asia Cup have earned her a two-place rise to sixth in the ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings. She has been one of India’s key performers alongside N Shree Charani, who continues to lead the bowling charts after taking seven wickets in three matches. Deepti also recently became the leading wicket-taker in Women’s T20I history, surpassing Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong after returning outstanding figures of 3/0 against Thailand. Putthawong has also moved up the rankings, climbing four places to 47th after taking five wickets in the tournament.
Mandhana remains India’s highest-ranked batter at fifth and is now just 12 rating points behind fourth-placed Hayley Matthews. Her sensational 124 against Hong Kong helped India secure a 137-run victory and also saw her surpass Mithali Raj as the leading run-scorer in women’s international cricket. Shafali Verma and Harmanpreet Kaur occupy seventh and 10th positions respectively.
Amy Hunter reaches career-best 11th in ODI batting rankings
Hunter has made the biggest move in the Women’s ODI batting rankings after a productive three-match series against England. The Ireland wicketkeeper-batter scored 62, 64 and 39 across the series, helping her reach a career-best 644 rating points and move from 20th to 11th in the rankings. England completed a 3-0 clean sweep, but Hunter was one of Ireland’s standout performers throughout the series. Her latest rating is also the second-highest ever achieved by an Ireland women’s batter, behind Miriam Grealey’s 654 points from August 2000.
England’s batters also made significant gains, with Maia Bouchier moving 13 places to 42nd and Sophia Dunkley climbing 26 spots to 43rd. Freya Kemp rose 37 places to 76th, while Charlie Dean moved two places to joint-11th among ODI bowlers. In the T20I rankings, Bangladesh’s Sobhana Mostary, UAE captain Esha Oza and Bangladesh bowlers Marufa Akter and Sultana Khatun were among the other notable movers following their performances in the Women’s Asia Cup.
