Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy invited Prince Rahim Aga Khan V to participate in the Telangana Global Summit to be held in Future City from December 7 to 9.

During a meeting with Prince Rahim Aga Khan V at Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad on Tuesday (September 15, 2026), the Chief Minister spoke about Aga Khan Foundation’s work in restoring the State Legislative Council building and Qutb Shahi Tombs.

The Chief Minister said that the State government holds the Aga Khan Foundation in high regard for its significant role in preserving and restoring the state’s rich heritage. The meeting also recalled the long-standing historical association between Hyderabad and the Aga Khan family.

The Chief Minister said that plans are being charted for rejuvenation of Musi River, including nighttime economy there. Stating that the State wants to develop the existing old building of Osmania General Hospital into a heritage structure, he sought the Foundation’s support in restoration of the building and City College, which are alongside the banks of the river. 

Mr. Reddy said that they are working towards increasing Telangana’s share in India’s GDP to 10%. He mentioned several salient features of the Future City, including that it would be spread over 30,000 acres. Around 15,000 acres was earmarked for green zone at the proposed Future City – which is envisioned as a fully net-zero city. It is approximately 20 minutes away from the international airport. A Singapore-based company is preparing master plans for the proposed city.
