Asian Games 2026 in Japan’s Aichi-Nagoya saw India win four silver medals and two bronze at the international sporting event.
A silver was bagged by the Women’s 10 M Air Rifle team comprising Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar, and Vidarsa Vinod won a silver.
Elavenil Valarivan also won another in Women’s 10 M Air Rifle Individual.
Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon, and Parth Mane won a silver in men’s 10 M Air Rifle team.
Himanshu Dhillon also won a silver in Men’s 10 M Air Rifle Individual.
The two bronze medals were won by Rudranksh Patil for Men’s 10 M Air Rifle Individual, Suchika Tariyal in Women’s Traditional MMA 60 kg.
India is also in the women’s cricket final event with either a gold or silver medal assured.
A contingent of 501 Indian athletes, comprising 267 men and 234 women, is competing across 36 disciplines at the 2026 Asian Games. They aim to build on a historic performance at the Hangzhou Games, where India finished fourth behind China, Japan and South Korea with an impressive haul of 106 medals.

India’s campaign at this Quadrennial spectacle is led by some of the nation’s biggest sports icons, including Manu Bhaker, Mirabai Chanu, Lovlina Borgohain, P.V. Sindhu, Aman Sehrawat, Tajinderpal Singh Toor, Gulveer Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Smriti Mandhana, and Jasprit Bumrah.
