Rohit Sharma has once again written his name into the record books. During the second ODI against West Indies in Guwahati, the Indian opener reached a historic milestone that no other batter had achieved before in ODI cricket.
Rohit is already known for owning several major six-hitting records, but his latest achievement has put him well ahead of some of the greatest power-hitters the game has seen.
Rohit Sharma Reaches 200 ODI Sixes in India
Rohit Sharma has become the first batter in ODI history to hit 200 sixes in a single country, reaching the landmark in India.
The Hitman was already at the top of this particular list. However, reaching 200 has made the gap between him and the rest even more striking.
Chris Gayle, one of the most destructive batters in cricket history, sits second with 147 ODI sixes in the West Indies. Former New Zealand opener Martin Guptill is behind him with 132 sixes in New Zealand, while Brendon McCullum struck 126 ODI sixes in New Zealand.
MS Dhoni is also among the leading names on the list.

Another Six-Hitting Record for Rohit Sharma
Rohit’s ability to clear the boundary has become one of the biggest features of his ODI career.
He had already gone beyond Gayle’s long-standing mark for the most ODI sixes in one country. When Rohit became the overall leading six-hitter in ODI cricket in late 2025, he had already smashed 182 sixes in India, compared with Gayle’s 147 in the West Indies.
That number has now reached 200.
The size of Rohit’s lead gives the achievement further context. No other batter has even reached 150 ODI sixes in a single country, while Rohit has become the first to cross the 200 mark.
With batting becoming increasingly aggressive in modern ODI cricket, this record could eventually be broken. But one part of the milestone will remain attached to Rohit Sharma forever: he was the first batter in ODI history to hit 200 sixes in a single country.
It is yet another major six-hitting milestone added to the Hitman’s remarkable ODI record.
