Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has refused to comment on whether he is interested in becoming Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) new batting coach in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

When Suresh Raina was asked about the possibility of joining Chennai Super Kings’ coaching staff or suggesting someone for this role during the jersey launch of the Indian Softball Cricket League (ISCL) season 2, the former Indian cricketer chose not to comment on that.
Raina simply said, “I don’t want to comment on that.”

The former World Cup winner also wants to see Mohammed Shami return to the India national cricket team. He praised the fast bowler’s consistent performances, fitness, and strength and expressed his desire to see Shami back in action after Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s comeback.
Speaking on ISCL, Raina said, “I think this (ISCL) is a great initiative. There are kids who deserve it and are getting to play cricket. I also played tennis ball cricket, and I didn’t know if I would play for UP, Air India, my sports college in Lucknow, or for India.”
The former CSK star added, “Players are getting opportunities, coaches are getting work, and the best part is that cricket is growing. Players played tennis ball cricket before; it is affordable. A lot of other sports are coming up now; players are entering these sports. I think it is a great initiative.”

Suresh Raina backs Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for 2027 ODI World Cup glory
Meanwhile, Suresh Raina is confident of India’s chances of winning the ICC ODI World Cup 2027. He believes the presence of experienced stars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli makes the Indian team strong enough to fight for the silverware that they have been waiting for since 2011.
The former CSK icon added, “Virat is there, Rohit is there, and the World Cup is coming up. I think the team is very strong. They have scored so many runs; 2011 happened, and 83 happened. It feels like it will be 2027’s turn. I am sure the team will do very well.”
