Vigilance awareness week kicks off in NLCIL

The Vigilance Awareness week celebrations got under way at NLC India Limited (NLCIL) in Neyveli on Monday.

The theme for this year’s campaign is ‘Probity for Prosperity’. In his address, the Chief Vigilance Officer, Appakannu Govindarajan, stressed the importance of transparent procurement and digital governance. While the company had made progress in digital infrastructure, further efforts were needed to modernise its information technology framework. Bottlenecks in contract management should be addressed to ensure timely closure of contracts, he said.

NLCIL Director (Human Resource) Samir Swarup said probity was not merely a regulatory requirement but essential to sustainable corporate growth and public trust.

New vigilance-related IT initiatives aimed at improving digital transparency and operational accountability were also launched as part of the campaign.
