Litchfield contributed a fluent 80 off 62 balls before falling to Kranti Gaud, but Voll pressed on, bringing up her hundred in the 30th over with a delicate glance to fine leg.

India post competitive total after Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal’s opening stand

Earlier, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and elected to bat first on a typically true Bellerive surface. The visitors posted a competitive 251/9 from their 50 overs, built around solid contributions from the top order .

Pratika Rawal anchored the innings with 52 off 81 balls, sharing an 78-run opening stand with Smriti Mandhana (31 off 37) . Harmanpreet Kaur played a captain’s knock of 54 off 70 deliveries, combining with Richa Ghosh (22 off 19) and Kashvee Gautam (25 off 34) to push the total past 250 despite regular wickets .

Ashleigh Gardner was the pick of Australia’s bowlers, claiming 2/39 from her 10 economical overs, while Annabel Sutherland and Alana King also grabbed 2 wickets each. The total, while competitive, always appeared chaseable on a surface offering true bounce and pace.

Gerogia Voll and Phoebe Litchfield decimate Indian bowling attack

Australia’s reply began shakily when Kashvee Gautam removed Alyssa Healy for just 6 in the fifth over, leaving the hosts at 21/1 . What followed was a batting masterclass from two of Australia’s most exciting young talents.

Voll and Litchfield systematically dismantled the Indian bowling attack, running sharply between wickets and punishing anything loose. Voll brought up her fifty off 68 balls before accelerating, while Litchfield reached her half-century in just 36 deliveries . Their 119-run partnership came at nearly six runs per over, effectively killing the contest by the 20-over mark.

After Litchfield’s departure for 80, Voll found another able partner in Beth Mooney, and the pair added 82 runs for the third wicket to take Australia to the brink of victory. Voll eventually fell for 101 off 113 balls, caught at long-on by Shree Charani off Amanjot Kaur, but by then the damage was done.

Mooney contributed a steady 31 off 34, while Gardner’s unbeaten 19 off 14 ensured Australia coasted home with almost 14 overs to spare.
