I marinated the chicken wings in spices like chilli powder, salt, pepper and garlic powder. The one secret ingredients to get crispy baked chicken wings is baking powder. It dries out the skin and makes the chicken super crispy.
I baked the chicken in oven and used a simple fiery sauce to toss the chicken in. The sauce has hot sauce, butter, sugar, vinegar and garlic, you can use your favorite hot sauce or chilli sauce in this recipe. The balance or heat and sweetness is perfect in this recipe.

Ingredients
- Chicken wings – use bone-in, skin on chicken wings. Make sure the wings are completely dry before tossing with spices.
- Spices for chicken – i used chilli powder, salt, pepper and garlic powder to season the chicken.
- Baking powder – The one secret ingredients to get crispy baked chicken wings is baking powder. It dries out the skin and makes the chicken super crispy.
- For Sauce – hot sauce, butter, garlic, vinegar, sugar and water is cooked together in a pan until syrupy and tossed with the baked wings.

Step by Step Pictures
Make Sauce
1)Preheat oven to 220 degree C (425 degree F). Line a baking tray with aluminium foil and Place a wire rack over the baking tray.
In a skillet, take your favorite hot sauce, minced garlic, sugar, vinegar, butter and water.

2)Place on heat and cook on medium heat until the sauce gets syrupy and slightly thick and glossy.

3)It will take around 3 to 5 minutes. Set this aside till ready to use.

Marination Chicken Wings
4)Take your chicken wings. I am using bone-in skin on chicken wings. it is important to pat them super dry with paper towel.

5)take chicken wings in a bowl.

6)Add in chilli powder, garlic powder, pepper powder and salt. if you prefer to add any other of your favorite seasonings, You can use that.

7)Now the important ingredient. Add in baking powder. Baking powder helps the chicken wings get super crispy when baked in the oven.

8)Add in some oil.

9)Massage this really well. No need to marinate it, you can bake it right away.

Baking Chicken wings
10)Grease the wire rack with some oil so the wings doesn’t stick to the rack. Arrange the chicken on the wire rack.
Place it into the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes.

11)Remove the tray from oven after 20 minutes, flip the chicken over and bake again for another 20 minutes.

12)Now remove the chicken from oven, flip again and bake for another 5 minutes.

Tossing in Sauce
13)Once the chicken is cooked, take the chicken wings in a bowl. Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken.

14)Toss it well to combine. The chicken wings will absorb the sauce.

15)Serve with your favorite creamy dipping sauce.
