iPhone 18 Pro pricing rumors offer surprisingly good news – 9to5Mac

Date:

We’re still more than half a year away from the launch of the iPhone 18 lineup, but the latest analyst price expectations are surprisingly good news.

Analyst Jeff Pu reports that the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will likely not see price increases

If you pay attention to the trends of the technology industry, you have probably heard that the main components of the iPhone can become much more expensive for Apple.

The report indicates that the A20 Pro chip, with its latest 2nm process, will be much more expensive due to increasing demand for TSMC capacity from other companies.

Similarly, AI-related demand is also driving up DRAM and storage costs.

Many investors assume that Apple will have to raise prices on the iPhone 18 line as a result. But increasingly, analysts who follow the company closely have a different view.

Recently, Ming-Chi Kuo reported that Apple plans to keep prices stable for its new iPhone 18 flagships. At a minimum, he expects basic storage options to stay at the same cost as the iPhone 17 line.

Now today, analyst Jeff Pu has published a research note where he corroborates this view.

He said that after Apple’s recent earnings call, his firm conducted new supply chain research that shows Apple is making some cost management efforts for this fall’s iPhones.

Apple’s goal, Pu says, is to continue to start selling prices of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max “unchanged or at a similar level” to their predecessors.

That means we’ll likely see starting prices of $1,099 and $1,199 for each model, respectively.

If Apple is able to keep prices the same, it could help provide an advantage if competitors decide they need to make price adjustments of their own. It will also help mitigate the potential backlash that it won’t be a base iPhone 18 option until early next year.
