The price of a commercial 19 kg Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder increased with immediate effect across India on Wednesday (April 1, 2026) morning by State-owned Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL).
Domestic 14.2 kg LPG cylinder prices were left untouched, which is bound to come as a big relief for the households. The domestic refill price was last revised on March 7, an increase of ₹60 each. In Hyderabad, the refills cost ₹965 each
Wednesday’s increase in commercial LPG cylinder price comes even as the users emerge from a crunch situation triggered by the war in West Asia and its impact on key maritime routes.
One of the first steps India resorted to, after the war broke out on February 28, is to prioritise domestic cooking gas production and supplies by curtailing commercial LPG.
Restaurants, eateries, hostels, messes and industries depend on commercial LPG refills of varying sizes. Auto LPG supplies have also come under strain despite the government gradually increasing commercial LPG allocation from an initial 20% to 70% in a month.
Prices in Hyderabad
In Hyderabad, a commercial gas cylinder will now cost ₹214.50 more each, taking the price ₹2,321 per refill, as against the old price of ₹2106.50.
There are a total of 17,613 commercial LPG connections in Hyderabad district, serviced by the three OMCs. The Current bookings are around 8,900, against the usual number of 6,404 bookings.
