Longest Over in IPL History: Arshdeep Joins Rare List

Arshdeep Singh’s 11-ball 20th over makes history at Mullanpur

Back on track they came, after slipping badly at the start. Wickets dried up for GT once the bowling tightened – tumbling from 119/2 by 13.5 overs to 150/6 in 19, just 31 off 37 deliveries. Then everything tilted again, thanks to Arshdeep’s chaotic 20th over that spilled 11 runs across 20 balls.

Faster through the air came his opening throw – ruled too far out, right away. One after another followed, wild again, stepping over when he should not have. That third proper pitch got smacked square by Tewatia, racing past fielders near the rope. Bounce then flight, both misfired, pulling strings he could not quite control.

Falling into the crease again, he found himself called for a no-ball – the third such instance – then hurled two stray deliveries, one after another. The final throw of the set also drifted too wide, almost careless, yet somehow closed with a quiet moment: nothing scored. Even so, just twelve slipped through during that messy stretch while GT settled at 162 for six.

Longest Over Tied in IPL

Now tied for longest over in IPL history, this delivery joins rare company. Five times before, bowlers have sent down 11 balls in a single over. See the full lineup right here.

Fifteen runs every over filled the scoreboard before six wickets fell near dusk. Their innings closed just past tea with a total hard to ignore

A total of 162 for six was Gujarat Titans’ score after their innings versus Punjab Kings during IPL 2026, shaped by consistent contributions across batters. At one point early, Shubman Gill anchored things – scoring 39 off just 27 – but later slowed near the finish. Jos Buttler stayed busy too, reaching 38 from 33 before losing his wicket unexpectedly. Through all that, support from further down didn’t arrive; runs dried once momentum dipped in Mullanpur.
