Rishabh Pant turns Pakistani, commits a horrible blunder & fumbles simple run-out in LSG vs RR clash

The Lucknow Super Giants could not make a promising start to their campaign as they faced defeat in their first game against the Delhi Capitals. Having bounced back in the competition with two consecutive wins, they failed to maintain the winning streak across the next three games.

Lucknow Super Giants struggled with their batting, and Rishabh Pant, the skipper, has largely been criticized for his poor shotplay that has led to his dismissals. However, Pant has taken some very special grabs this season and was looking good with the gloves on before today’s match.

Rishabh Pant fumbled during his wicket-keeping stint as he missed an opportunity to run Donovan Ferreira out when Nicholas Pooran pulled out a screamer from the deep. The incident that followed was even more hilarious.

Rishabh Pant fumbles, Mukul Choudhary fails as well; LSG duo makes a mockery of themselves

During the Rajasthan Royals’ innings, Ravindra Jadeja hit the ball and ran for a double, but midway, he saw Nicholas Pooran was charging onto the ball. He then refused Donovan Ferreira a run, and the batter would have been run out.

But Pant ran to catch the ball and, in the attempt, broke the wickets; hence, to run the batter out, he had to uproot the stumps. Pant returned the throw from Nicholas Pooran to Mukul Choudhary, who was near the stumps.

However, Choudhary realized later that he had to pull the stumps out and could not react before the batter actually crossed the crease. This fumble resulted in massive outrage and public humiliation for the LSG skipper.

Rishabh Pant’s stellar grab dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal early in the RR innings

Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed in the third over of the powerplay, but the breakthrough came not only as a result of Yashasvi Jaiswal playing a poor shot or Mohammed Shami bowling a spectacular delivery, but also due to Rishabh Pant’s brilliance with the gloves.

Mohammed Shami was being hit for runs, but he surprised Jaiswal with a bouncer, who missed on an attempted hook shot. Rishabh Pant leaped into the air and grabbed one out of the thin air. Pant’s catch could easily be called one of the most iconic catches of the season.

After two consecutive losses, Rajasthan Royals regain winning streak

Rajasthan Royals started the season with four consecutive wins from the first few matches; however, the Riyan Parag-led side faced a massive blow as they were defeated by the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the weakest limb of this year’s IPL, the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Despite not scoring many runs in this game, the Rajasthan Royals batters bounced back, with their bowlers doing a fair amount of the job. Ravindra Jadeja was the best contributor with the bat, scoring 20 runs off the final over of the game.

Lastly, the RR pacers handed a stunning start to the innings, with wickets falling at regular intervals. However, by the end of the innings, the Royals bounced back and managed to win the game by a considerable margin of 40 runs.
