Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (February 14, 2026) paid homage to the CRPF personnel who lost their lives in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on this day in 2019 and said every Indian draws strength from their enduring courage.
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan also paid tributes to the personnel who laid down their lives in the attack.
In a post on X, Mr. Modi said, “Remembering the brave heroes who laid down their lives in Pulwama on this day in 2019. Their devotion, resolve and service to the nation remain forever etched in our collective consciousness. Every Indian draws strength from their enduring courage”.
Vice President Radhakrishnan said the supreme sacrifice by the CRPF personnel will forever remain etched in the nation’s memory.
“I pay homage to the brave personnel who laid down their lives in the Pulwama terror attack. Their supreme sacrifice will forever remain etched in the nation’s memory and continues to inspire us to build a strong and secure India,” he said.
Terrorism, greatest enemy of humanity, says Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid homage to the CRPF personnel killed in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, saying terrorism is the greatest enemy of humanity and India is firmly determined to eradicate it completely.
In a message posted on X, Mr. Shah said, “The country will always remain indebted to the courage, dedication, and sacrifices of our security forces and security agencies that confront terrorism.
“Terrorism is the greatest enemy of humanity, and India is firmly determined to eradicate it completely,” he said.
Manoj Sinha pays tribute
Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha paid tributes to the CRPF personnel who lost their lives in a terror attack on their convoy in Pulwama district on this day in 2019.
“Humble tributes to the valiant martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty during the dastardly terrorist attack in Pulwama in 2019. Their unwavering commitment, unparalleled bravery and selfless service to the motherland will forever inspire every citizen,” the Lt Governor said in a post on X.
Sacrifices made by jawans in Pulwama attack will never be forgotten: Manipur CM
Manipur Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh said sacrifices made by CRPF personnel in the Pulwama attack will never be forgotten.
He said the legacy of the slain jawans will continue to inspire generations to serve the nation with honour and devotion.
Mr. Singh, in a post on X, said, “On this solemn day, we bow our heads in profound respect and remembrance of the brave martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice in the tragic terror attack at Pulwama.” “Their unparalleled courage, unwavering dedication, and love for the nation will forever remain etched in our hearts. The people of Manipur stand in complete solidarity with the families of our fallen heroes and reaffirm our collective resolve to uphold the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of our great nation,” the Chief Minister said.
“Their sacrifices will never be forgotten, and their legacy will continue to inspire generations to serve the nation with honour and devotion,” he added.
Former Chief Minister N Biren Singh also offered his tributes to those killed in the attack.
In a post on X, he said, “As the nation remembers the martyrs of Pulwama, I offer my humble tributes to those bravehearts who chose duty over life. Their sacrifice strengthened the soul of our nation. The nation shall forever remain indebted to our martyrs, whose legacy will continue to guide and inspire generations to come.”
A suicide bomber crashed his explosive-laden vehicle into a bus ferrying Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel on February 14, 2019, killing 40 jawans.
Days later, India launched a retaliatory attack, which came to be known as the Balakot airstrike.
