A social media user shared a post claiming that Matthew Short might watch YouTube videos of Ravichandran Ashwin talking negatively, which could influence team decisions and lead to him being benched. Ashwin responded through his official account and dismissed the claim.

“As if I am worried about playing every game at this stage of my career🤣🤣”

Ravichandran Ashwin rejected the narrative around his conduct and made it clear that he does not engage in personal remarks. He urged fans to verify facts through his official content instead of believing misleading social media claims.

“Secondly, trash-talking or making a personal remark is not my style. Whatever you see on X suggesting I have gone against someone is purely false, and if you are ever interested in seeing what I said, please go watch my videos.”

Ravichandran Ashwin expressed frustration over the spread of misinformation and the current standards of online reporting. Ashwin also made it clear that he remains fully focused on cricket and is committed to contributing to his teams across global franchise tournaments.

Short is having a difficult IPL season with the Chennai Super Kings. He has mostly batted at number four or five instead of his usual opening role and has had limited chances this season.

In two matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals, he scored 36 runs at a strike rate of 97.30. He has also not taken any wickets and has conceded 39 runs in his bowling spells.
