Priyank Panchal Slams Jamieson for Aggressive Celebration

Priyank Panchal, once a key figure in India’s cricket setup, called out Delhi Capitals bowler Kyle Jamieson for losing control after getting young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi out in their IPL 2026 clash. Right off the mark – second over of the game – the New Zealand quick fired one in sharply, catching the youngster flat-footed with a searing inswinger. Instead of walking away quietly, Jamieson turned up the heat with a sharp verbal nudge aimed at the teen batter. The delivery did its job: speed and late movement combined just enough to graze the bottom edge before smashing into the timber. That dismissal marked Sooryavanshi’s third time failing to reach double figures across eleven knocks this campaign.

Still, Jamieson faced sharp backlash over his lively outburst. On X, Panchal weighed in plainly, calling the display entirely unwarranted – no reason for it at all.

“31-year-old Kyle Jamieson giving a 15-year-old kid a send off after dismissing him. Does not make for a pretty sight. But also shows how much of an impact and fear Vaibhav has instilled amongst the opponents already,” said Panchal

A stumble, uncommon for Sooryavanshi this term. With 400 runs across ten games before today – one hundred, two fifties – he arrived full of rhythm. Then Jamieson bowled him second ball, caught out on four.

Out of trouble following a shaky start, Riyan Parag took charge alongside Dhruv Jurel, their stand lifting RR toward safety. Their 102 runs together shifted momentum fast. Scoring came quick as Parag reached ninety in only fifty deliveries – his best knock this year. A long-awaited half-century silenced doubters who had questioned his form early on.

A steady 40 from Jurel, built on 32 deliveries, set the stage. Soon after, Donovan Ferreira exploded – 47 not out came rushing through in only 14 balls. Together, these knocks carried RR toward a steep total. By innings’ close, they stood tall at 225 for six after twenty. A score few would dare chase.

Things haven’t been going well for Parag with the bat this season. Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse, footage surfaced of him using a vape in the dugout. Caught red-handed on camera, he now faces a penalty – BCCI slapped him with a 25 percent fine.

He carried plenty on his shoulders that night. Still, the right-handed batter delivered – clear, sharp, first time past fifty in IPL 2026
