After enduring a nightmare start with six matches without a victory, the three-time champions looked destined for an early elimination. Questions were being raised about the balance of the squad, leadership decisions, and whether the team had enough firepower to survive in a fiercely competitive season.
However, the mood around the franchise has completely changed over the last few weeks. Under the calm leadership of Ajinkya Rahane, KKR have rediscovered their rhythm at the perfect time. Four consecutive wins have pushed them to seventh place in the points table and reignited hopes of a late surge into the playoffs. With momentum now firmly on their side, KKR suddenly look like one of the most dangerous teams in the competition.

KKR’s latest victory came in emphatic fashion against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday. Chasing a modest target of 143, the visitors produced a commanding batting display to seal the match by eight wickets with a massive 34 balls remaining.
The foundation of the win was laid by KKR’s spin attack. Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine and Anukul Roy completely choked the Delhi batting lineup with disciplined spells in the middle overs. Their accuracy prevented DC from building partnerships and restricted them to a below-par total on a surface that became easier to bat on later in the evening.
Once the chase began, it quickly turned into a one-sided affair thanks to a sensational innings from Finn Allen. The aggressive opener tore into the Delhi bowling attack with fearless strokeplay and smashed a stunning 47-ball century. Allen attacked both pace and spin with equal confidence, finding boundaries almost at will and ensuring there would be no late drama in the chase. After the RCB clash, KKR will take on Gujarat Titans on May 16, followed by a high-profile encounter against Mumbai Indians on May 20. Their final league-stage fixture will once again be against Delhi Capitals on May 24.
