A new viral video on social media alleges that some fans tried to steal a watch from Rohit Sharma’s wrist while the Mumbai Indians icon was seated in his car.
The video shows some enthusiastic fans trying to shake Sharma’s hand before trying to wrap it around his watch.
Rohit Sharma’s sports watch worth Rs 3.25 crore
In the video, Sharma can be seen sporting Rolex’s Daytona Giraffe. Reportedly, the watch costs Rs. 3.25 crore, but it is not fully confirmed. Although the Mumbai Indians are currently in Raipur for their match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 10, it is not confirmed if that’s where the video is from.

Rohit Sharma in IPL 2026
After making a recent buzz with a teaser hinting at his TV debut, Rohit Sharma will be looking to have another go on the field in IPL 2026.
A toe injury he sustained during MI’s previous match against RCB and another hamstring injury meant that he has played just 5 of his team’s 10 matches in the tournament.
His 221 runs have come at an average of 55 and a strike rate of over 174. He has also made two fifties, with both of them coming in successful chases of over 220.
In MI’s last match, he made a valuable 84 that helped Mumbai Indians gun down LSG’s 229 with eight balls to spare.
Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026
MI currently have just 3 wins from 10 matches, and for all intents and purposes are out of the race for qualification to the playoffs. Rohit’s 84 against LSG had helped MI break a three-match losing streak.
With just 4 matches left in the season, MI can only hope to play party-poopers from here. MI’s woes mostly arise from their famed starcast being unable to click into form.
Rohit Sharma has done okay for himself, but other stalwarts like captain Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Jasprit Bumrah have been off-colour. This has led to them juggling the team combination every other match.
Ryan Rickelton has been a bright spot in an otherwise bleak season, though. Apart from Rohit’s brief injury and comeback, MI have also lost the services of New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner for the rest of the season as well.
Mumbai Indians’ next match
MI will face defending champions RCB at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. The match will be on May 10.
Recently, reports have emerged that neither Hardik Pandya nor Suryakumar Yadav is available for this clash. Pandya had missed the team’s last match with a back spasm and reportedly did not travel to Raipur.
Yadav had taken up the captaincy in that game in his stead. Without him available either, the MI think-tank might be left scratching their heads looking for a new captain.
