The cybercrime police arrested a fraudster, Neelam Pavan Kumar, who borrowed loans with fake documents and did not repay them for the last few years.
A native of Gudur village in Krishna district, Pavan Kumar, worked in e-Seva for some time. He opened fake accounts with false ID cards, residential proof and other documents, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP-Cybercrimes) K. Krishna Prasanna.
The accused opened 26 accounts in Eluru Road, Gunadala and other branches of a private bank in Vijayawada, and borrowed loans worth ₹5.28 crore. Pavan Kumar was wanted in other cases in Krishnalanka, Bhavanipuram, Bandar Two Town and Gudur police stations, Ms. Prasanna said.
Police seized documents valued about ₹7 crore, a car, 122 grams of gold jewellery, 927 grams of silver ornaments, nine ATM cards and other valuables from the accused, the DCP said and appreciated the police for arresting the fraudster.
